KAWAYAN COLLECTIVE
Founded in 2019, Kawayan Collective specializes in bamboo treatment and collection. It partners with private individuals through engagement with contracted farmers in planting and harvesting bamboos. Each bamboo pole undergoes the BASE’s nine-step process to ensure construction-grade quality.
With its bamboo waste treatment, the facility developed additional products including panels from cracked poles, furniture and home goods, and composite bamboo tiles from sawdust.

MURCIA COOPERATIVE
The Murcia Cooperative treatment facility was established in 2017. The facility sourced its bamboo directly from private landowners. It hires local labor through its appointed team leader to harvest and manage the demands of bamboo. Each new member of the cooperative undergoes harvesting training to ensure quality control.
The cooperative also undertakes the treatment of Solignum or the use of wood preservatives to avoid pest infestations before going through the BASE’s nine-step process.

KANYA KAWAYAN
Established in 2019, Kanya Kawayan produces “tad-tad” or flattened bamboo poles apart from its treated poles. The flattened bamboos, which are developed from cutting treated poles into strips are being used for doors and other structural features of the house, which makes the structure more environmentally friendly.
It also produces planters for gardening and firewood for the communities using rejected bamboo to minimize bamboo waste production.

The Hineleban Foundation was founded in 2006 with the aim to restore the high mountain forests and provide sustainable livelihood to Bangsamoro and Indigenous people in Mindanao. Its treatment facility was established in 2017 in Tuminugan Farm, a foundation-run farm in Bukidnon.
Each bamboo pole undergoes quality control through the Values Coordination Officer before being collected and transported to the treatment facility. The facility also produces pinned bamboo or bamboo panels in addition to construction-grade poles.
