WHO WE ARE

Base Bahay Foundation, Inc. (BASE) is a non-profit organization based in the Philippines, initiated by the Hilti Foundation in Liechtenstein.

BASE is dedicated to the research, development, and scaling of alternative building technologies globally, with a strong focus on promoting regenerative and low-carbon construction materials such as bamboo.

With a strong focus on regenerative and low-carbon materials such as bamboo, BASE collaborates with industry, academia, and government partners to develop engineered building systems, generate technical knowledge, and support the wider adoption of sustainable construction practices. Through research, innovation, and capacity building, BASE aims to help transform the built environment toward more climate-responsible and resilient development.
